Hélder Santos - Human Foundations
Hi, I’m Hélder, a Functional Patterns Human Foundations practitioner at Brighton Biomechanics. My interest in movement began with my own struggles: a football injury at 13 left me in persistent pain and eventually forced me to abandon the sport.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gave me purpose again, but physical limitations continued to hold me back. Discovering Functional Patterns changed the way I trained and understood my body. Through that process, I went on to win a national Blue Belt Jiu-Jitsu title and place third at the 2026 national university judo championships.
Having experienced those setbacks myself, I now want to help others move beyond pain, improve how they move and enhance their quality of life, teaching Functional Patterns at Brighton Biomechanics.
